Love Song For Winter

Dear summer, it's time you take a bow
And let the trees prepare for gray and sagging clouds
The sun is looking lazy now
So take a cue from its posture and usher yourself out

Though goodbyes are hard to do
Are you surprised that I'm in love with snow and not with you
I know some dread the cold and gray
But I think its funny that I feel warm on cold and snowy days

Falling leaves sing sweet melodies
Announcing wintertime with their soft lullabies
The air may be cold but I feel warm
When summer yields to winter's nights

It's tempting to fret when winter comes
Colder days and long frosty nights
Some might wish upon a falling leaf that summer solstice
Might be persuaded not to run and hide

But I am looking for the snow
A quiet blanket falling from the sky
Peace that settles down on us
And gives rest to our tired and weary lives
